Bengaluru: The residents of the city are set to experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms from April 2 to April 4. Meanwhile, the temperature is also likely to decrease by 3 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius, and the rainfall is likely to be accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, and gusty winds. This would bring relief to the city, much-needed respite from high temperatures.

The city has been experiencing higher-than-normal temperatures, with daytime highs around 35 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows around 21 degrees Celsius. The weather department has indicated that rainfall is likely in Karnataka due to an active cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal. Currently, this circulation is located over the Southwest Bay off the Tamil Nadu coast.

The expected temperatures for the day will range from a minimum of 21 degrees Celsius in the morning to a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. The sun rose at 6:15 AM and is expected to set at 6:31 PM. Humidity levels are anticipated to be around 54 per cent and winds are forecasted to blow from the Southeast at a speed of 11 km/h.

Rainfall is predicted in these regions

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) widespread scattered showers are likely to occur in these regions including, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Hassan, Chikkamagluru, Kodagu, Mysuru, Haveri, Dharwad, Belagavi, Chamarajanagar, and Gadag districts. The weather department also issued yellow alert for April 3 and 4. Hailstorms are very likely to occur in isolated places in Karnataka in the coming days.

The IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall for Thursday, April 3, 2025. The skies are expected to be cloudy and the temperatures are predicted to range between 22 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.
