
Mumbai skies turn stormy as IMD issues nowcast warning for rain, thunderstorms, and gusty wind | Representational Image
Mumbai: A Nowcast warning for rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms has been issued for Mumbai for the next 3 to 4 hours. The warning was issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) at 4.25 pm. Parts of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and other areas of MMR have already started receiving gusty winds and skies are cloudy.
“Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and Light spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai during next 3-4 hours. Take precautions while moving out,” the weather alert issued by IMD said.
This week, the interiors of Maharashtra have recieved unseasonal rainfall including Vidharbha, Marathwada and North Maharashtra. Mumbai, Karjat and Kasara also recieved light showers two days ago.
