The reputation of ministers, supporting an important leader of the BJP, is at rock bottom these days. The names of this leader’s supporters are linked to the rip-offs which have rattled the state. This has also sullied the leader’s image in the eyes of the party leadership in Delhi. The raids conducted by the probe agencies on the residential premises of some people have put a question mark on these two ministers supporting the leader. The name of one of the ministers is directly connected to a corruption case. The minister is worried about it, and the raids conducted by the sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate have further increased his tension. Similarly, the name of another minister has cropped up during the raids on the residential premises of another person. The minister’s photograph with the person has gone viral. Besides these two ministers, there is another minister whose name is also linked to the disputes.  There are reports that the minister is making sweetener through one of his close aides. The reports have reached Delhi, which may pose a problem to the minister.

Minister’s difficulties

A minister connected to the education department feels he does not have enough power. He has poured out his pains at different forums that his department is run from some another place. The minister was absent from several functions held by the department. Two persons, holding important positions in the department, are taking interest in its day-to-day functioning. The higher-ups in the government take most of the decisions related to the department, and the minister just puts his signature on the files. This is the reason why the officials are not giving him any importance. The minister is very smart, but because he finds himself alone for the first time, he is making efforts to get back his old department. He spoke about his problems to some RSS functionaries and about his intentions to get back his old department. He has been assured that whenever the cabinet is expanded, his department will be changed.

Up the creek

A legislator of the ruling party is passing through a difficult phase. The legislator borrowed money from some people to fight the assembly election. The legislator promised to pay back the loans after the election, but he is not doing it. He thought there would not be any dearth of money after the election, but that did not happen. He is not able to make money through backhand deals. On the contrary, his expenses have increased after he has become an MLA. The officers are also not giving him due importance. So, he is not able to get any work done through the officers. Whenever the legislator goes to his constituency, moneylenders begin to knock at his door. The legislator has spoken to a leader of his party about his problems but, instead of solving his problem, the leader pulled him up, and advised the legislator to fight an election with propriety. Now, the legislator plans to sell some plots of land to get rid of the loans.

Troubles ahead

The statements of a minister, who is surrounded by controversies these days, always put him in trouble. He is in charge of two departments, and one of them has hogged the limelight for different reasons, but the minister is keeping mum. He fears lest his name should be dragged into the controversy, for the department steals newspaper headlines daily because of corruption. About the minister, it is said that he has failed to bridle the officials of the department. Similarly, the minister’s difficulties multiply in another department. As the statements made by the minister in the past one year, only kicked up controversies, after his fresh statement reached the party’s central leadership, he was advised to keep away from making such statements. The situation came to such a pass that the minister had to clear his stand on the statement. Now, there are reports that the minister has decided to keep mum over the issue.

Mysterious silence

A Congress leader is maintaining a stoic silence on recent raids by probe agencies on the residential premises of a former constable of the Transport Department and on those of some builders. The leader generally makes statements on every issue, but his hush over the present case has provoked public discussions. Everybody in the party as well as outside the organisation expected the leader to pull up the government on raids carried out by probe agencies. A few people handed over some documents about the raids to him, but the leader maintained a mysterious silence.  Now, some of his rivals in the party are trying to find whether the leader has any connection with those people whose residential premises were raided. The leader is well-known for making offstage deals, and this is the reason why his adversaries in the party suspect he may have had some tacit understanding with those people. There are reports that his competitors have opened a front, which may trouble him in the coming days.

Two sides of same coin

The passing away of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh shocked the nation, and the Government of India announced seven-day national mourning. The birthday of a cabinet minister in the state and that of a legislator in the ruling party fell on the day Singh passed away. Immediately after getting the news that Singh was no more, the cabinet minister cancelled his birthday function for which his supporters made a lot of preparations. So, all the preparations were cancelled. On the contrary, the legislator from Malwa region celebrated his birthday with all the trumpet blast. After the function, the legislator’s photographs were posted on social media, but it did not go well with his party colleagues who also mourned the death of Singh and paid rich tributes to the departed soul together with the nation.
