Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Four-day Ijtima—a global congregation—ended with mass prayer ‘Dua’ at noon at Eintkhedi on Monday. Around 518 Jamaat from 38 countries participated in the Itjima. Besides, devotees from various states joined it.

Around 30k volunteers were pressed into service to manage the show with coordination from the district administration, police, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and others. Thousands of Muslims left for their destination at one go.

All roads leading to Eintkhedi were jam-packed with visitors and devotees after Ijtima was over. One of the devotees suffered heart attack and was taken to the hospital. Dr Umar Hafeez, organising committee member said, ‘On the last day, on the request of Muslims, Dua timing was extended from morning to noon. Volunteers regulated traffic and parking lots.’

BMC collects 50-ton waste from Ijtima site

Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) removed 50-ton waste from Ijtima site after the congregation ended. The civic staff cleaned the Intkhedi Ijtima Sthal, control room, office, food zone, pandals and parking places etc. from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

To collect garbage from Intkhedi Ijtima site and main roads, the civic body pressed 47 vehicles (29 dumpers/10 Magic, 8 foggers) and 20 containers of 4.5 cubic metre capacity and 10 sewage cleaning machines into service.
