For more than a month from now, stories of faith, rituals and divinity are sure to trickle out from the Triveni Sangam of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. A tale of ‘IITian Baba’ has emerged from the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. And this has made netizens chuckle.

The interaction starts with interviewer beginning conversation with the man after probably being intrigued by such young person wearing clothes of a sanyasi.
“I have completed Aerospace engineering from IIT-Bombay,” says the baba.
What follows in the video is stunned silence that persists for quite a long time. It appears as if the interviewer is pondering if the man is telling the truth.
But as the conversation goes on, it is revealed by the ‘IITian baba’ that after graduation, he even taught Physics in Kochi.
“So how did you come here?” asked the interviewer trying to fathom just how a graduate from one of India’s elite institutes decided to leave the prospects of fat paycheck and took up spirituality.
“This stage is the best stage,” said the baba, adding that pursuit of knowledge leads a man “here” (In Prayagraj).
The name of the IITian Baba? Abhay Singh, but he goes by Masani Gorakh. He told CNN-News18 that he is from Haryana.
He revealed that during engineering, he took philosophy courses as well. After his graduation from IIT-B he pursued masters degree in design.
