Navi Mumbai: IG Petrochemicals Limited (IGPL), in collaboration with Ennoble Social Innovation, has successfully transformed R.Z.P. Prathamik School in Panvel.
“One of the primary objectives of this initiative was to ensure proper sanitation and access to clean drinking water. The school’s sanitation facilities have been completely renovated, with separate upgraded toilets for boys and girls, featuring new plumbing, fresh tiles, secure doors, exhaust fans, and water tanks. Additionally, a newly constructed water trough, equipped with a purifier and modern plumbing, now provides students with hygienic drinking water throughout the day,” Chirag Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer at Ennoble, said.
Beyond sanitation, every aspect of the school has been carefully improved. The building now boasts fresh coats of paint, structural repairs, better lighting, and enhanced safety measures. A total of 11 classrooms, along with the computer lab, office, and corridors, have been revitalized with new plasterwork, crack repairs, and protective coatings for durability. Security has been strengthened with the installation of new windows featuring secure grills and mesh, while the main gate has been reinforced, a school staff said.
The school’s electrical infrastructure has also received a significant boost, with the addition of new fans, lights, and power points, improving classroom ventilation and visibility. The restoration of the computer lab ensures students can actively engage with digital learning, as faulty systems have been repaired for better accessibility.
A key highlight of the transformation is the focus on sustainability. The school now features a dedicated waste management system, incorporating dry and wet waste segregation, compost bins, and a tree plantation initiative. A newly installed 3 KV solar panel system has made the school energy-efficient, reducing electricity costs and raising awareness about renewable energy. Additionally, a rainwater harvesting system, complete with a storage tank and soak pit, has been implemented to promote responsible water usage.
To connect students with nature, a Tree Plantation Drive has been launched, encouraging them to adopt and care for trees. Secure fencing has been placed around the green areas, ensuring a thriving, eco-friendly school environment.
Bhandari added, “A school is more than just walls and classrooms—it’s where futures are shaped. Our goal was to create a space where students feel motivated to learn, teachers feel empowered to teach, and the community takes pride in its role. This collaboration with IGPL has brought that vision to life, and we hope to see many more such transformations in the future.”
The inauguration ceremony was a momentous occasion, attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Sagar Jadhav, Executive Director, IGPL; Dr. V. P.
