IGNOU Convocation 2025: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will hold the 38th Convocation today, March 5, 2025. The event will be held at the Babasaheb Ambedkar Convention Centre in New Delhi, with simultaneous ceremonies taking place at regional centres across India and abroad.
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Education Minister, will be the Chief Guest and deliver the convocation address. During the ceremony, IGNOU will award around 2.8 lakh degrees, diplomas, and certificates to the graduating students.
Those who cleared the December 2023 and June 2024 exams are entitled to receive the original certificates during the Convocation. Students can also receive their certificates at the regional centre. Candidates can contact their respective regional centre for details.

IGNOU has around 2,667 learner support centers and 29 international partner institutions. The University provides about 228 certificate, diploma, degree, and doctoral programs. It is assisted by almost 810 faculty members and 574 academic staff at the headquarters and regional centers, and around 33,212 academic counsellors from conventional higher education institutions, professional bodies, and industries, as per the IGNOU official website.
IGNOU Registration Last Date Extended For All Programs Till March 15
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has also extended the re-registration deadline for all courses, as well as admission to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online courses, until March 15. Candidates interested in applying but have not done so can apply online at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. This is for the IGNOU January 2025 session for all ODL and online courses except certificate courses. This is the third extension for these courses.
