Iga Swiatek’s Australian Open 2025 journey ended in the semi-final after losing to America’s Madison Keys 5-7,6-1,7-6 (10-8). According to a Daily Mail report, Swiatek was picked up doing an act that was termed as ‘gross’ by eagle-eyed Australian Open viewers.

Swiatek criticised for time-wasting

Besides the gross act on court, the World No 2 found herself in major controversy over delaying the start of the third set. After losing the second set Swiatek had called for a toilet break. While Keys returned to the court on time and was ready to serve to start the third and final set, there was no sign of Swiatek.

The American even asked the chair umpire to look into the matter. Swiatek finally made her way to the court, but before straightaway positioning herself for the receive, she was seen doing shadow practice for some time, much to Keys’s dismay and displeasure
