Hit the shoes movement: On the occasion of ‘Navy Day’ on 4 December 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 35 feet high statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. Which has become controversial after it collapsed due to strong winds on 26 August and the government has taken immediate action and apologized for the incident.

MVA launched shoe hitting movement

After the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj fell, the leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi took to the streets on Sunday and started a shoe-hitting movement against the Mahayuti government. Now the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar has reacted to this movement. He said that the opposition should not do politics on the statue of Shivaji Maharaj.

In this regard, Ajit Pawar further said in a program, ‘Some people have started a ‘Jhoota Maro’ movement against us. They hit the pictures of Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis and me with chappals. What is the me.ng of hitting with shoes like this? If you have the courage, come forward and show it. What kind of fraud are you doing!’

Ajit Pawar was addressing the Jan Samman Yatra program in Baramati. During this, the Deputy CM was asked, ‘Would any government want such an incident to happen?’ To which Ajit Pawar replied, ‘The incident of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue falling is unfortunate. No one would want the statue of any great man to fall. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is everyone’s God. We have also apologized to the people of the state. There is no need to politicize this incident. It will be found out who is at fault in this matter.’
