GT vs PBKS: Punjab Kings made a great start in IPL 2025 by defeating Gujarat Titans in a thrilling match. The high -scoring match was very exciting till the last over, where every ball was seen changing the match, but the Punjab bowlers took a brilliant performance in the final moments and snatched the victory from the Gujarat Titans. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored a huge score of 243 runs with the help of Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy innings (97 runs). His explosive innings included a brilliant stroke play, which provided a strong base to the team.
Chasing the target, the Gujarat Titans team made a brilliant start and it seemed that it would easily reach the target, but in the last over of the match, Vijay Kumar Vaishakh changed the entire equation of the match by bowling tightly. His accurate yorker and fast line-Lenth brought Gujarat batsmen under pressure and eventually the entire team could score 232 runs, due to which Punjab won the match by 11 runs. Gujarat needed 27 runs in the last over and Rahul Tewatia unfortunately was run out on the first ball.

Rutherford played a direct shot off Arshdeep Singh’s ball, which the bowler tried to stop in a follow-through. The ball slipped from Arshdeep’s hand and went directly to the stumps, while Rahul Tewatia was outside the crease at the non-stray end and was run out. If the ball does not appear on the stumps, it would have been a fours. In this way, Gujarat lost the wicket of Rahul Tewatia on the boundary ball. On the fourth ball of the over, Arshdeep Singh bowled Rutherford clean.
Shashank Singh’s run turning point
Shashank Singh played a brilliant innings of 44 not out. Shashank Singh scored 44 runs off just 16 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Priyansh Arya played a useful innings of 47 runs, which managed to score a huge score of Punjab. Sai Sudarshan (74) and Jose Butler (54) played brilliant innings for the Gujarat Titans, which at a time seemed that Gujarat would easily achieve the target. After the brilliant performance of both the batsmen, Gujarat’s victory seemed to be almost certain, but Punjab Kings made a strong comeback in the final over and overturned the match.
