Waqf Amendment Bill: In the Lok Sabha, political warmth is being seen in Bihar amid the debate on the Waqf Amendment Bill. Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore appealed to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United (JDU) not to support the bill. He told the Muslim leaders of JDU, “If this bill is passed in Parliament, he should leave Nitish.” Because it was because of Muslims that Nitish won Bihar elections in 2015 and became the Chief Minister. He also claimed that if there were no Muslims, Nitish’s politics would have ended.

Prashant Kishore alias PK on Wednesday attacked JDU over the Waqf Bill in a media conversation. He said, ‘If this bill is passed in Parliament, then Nitish’s party will be responsible for this more than BJP. Nitish MPs should not vote on this bill in the House. JDU Muslim leaders should also appeal to their MPs to vote against the Waqf Bill.

PK had said, “His party is against the Jan Suraj Waqf Amendment Bill”. This bill directly affects Muslims. If the government enacts Waqf law without the confidence of the Muslim community, then it will be completely wrong. Any interference in the rights given to minorities in the constitution is not appropriate without the consent of the society.

Prashant Kishore reminded Nitish Kumar that, “In 2015, Muslims voted for the Grand Alliance to make him the Chief Minister.” Today, by supporting the Waqf bill, Nitish and JDU are breaking the promise made to the Muslim community. Nitish should know that Muslims have a big contribution in making him the Chief Minister. If they do not vote against Waqf, it would be wrong to call themselves a follower of Gandhi and Lohia.
