Maharashtra CM: Even after Mahayuti’s massive victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, BJP is finding it difficult to form the government. The Bharatiya Janata Party high command has decided to make Devendra Fadnavis the Chief Minister. However, Shinde is not ready to leave the chair. Shinde’s party claims that the BJP government lasted for two and a half years only when he broke Shiv Sena and joined BJP. Not only this, credit for the Girl Sister Scheme is also being given to Shinde. In such a situation, Shinde’s party is demanding that despite having more seats in Maharashtra like Bihar, BJP should give up its claim from the post of CM and Shinde should be made the CM again.
Who will become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra?
However, Bharatiya Janata Party has got the maximum seats. In such a situation, even if BJP does not make its CM, many leaders will be angry. Meanwhile, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has indicated that if Shinde does not agree, BJP can form the government with the support of Ajit Pawar.
NDA leader indicated
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale, one of the senior leaders of the BJP-led NDA, said regarding the selection of the new Chief Minister, ‘BJP says that we have more number of MLAs. Devendra Fadnavis will become the Chief Minister. BJP high command has given this message to Shinde. Shinde is seeking another term. But, BJP is not ready for this. Bihar’s formula does not apply here. The formula there was different. There Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already asked Nitish Kumar to become the Chief Minister. However, no such assurance was given here. We must remain united. This will be beneficial for the development of Maharashtra. Now Eknath Shinde should come into central politics. If Shinde does not agree, BJP will have no problem in forming the government because they have the majority.
Chief Minister resigned
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Governor CP Radhakrishnan on Tuesday morning and submitted his resignation. Also, the Governor has asked Eknath Shinde to continue working as the acting Chief Minister till he takes oath as the new Chief Minister. Shinde had reached Raj Bhavan with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. The tenure of Maharashtra Assembly ends today on 26th November. The grand alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party has won the Maharashtra Assembly elections. Mahayuti returned to power with a bumper victory by winning 230 seats in the 288-member assembly. However, the alliance leaders have not yet been able to reach a consensus on the new Chief Minister.
Who has how many seats?
It has been 3 days since the election results came, but the churning continues regarding the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra. It is being told that Shinde led Shiv Sena is continuously insisting on making Eknath Shinde the Chief Minister to form a new government in Maharashtra.
It is noteworthy that Mahayuti has returned to power by winning 230 out of 288 seats. The Congress-led opposition alliance Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) managed to win only 46 seats.
