The deadline to link Aadhaar card with PAN is over. In such a situation, if you missed to link it, then this news may surprise you. The Income Tax Department had fixed June 30, 2023 as the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN. No fee to be paid for Aadhaar-PAN linking till June 30. Due to the end of its deadline, now people may have to face a lot of difficulties in completing the work related to it.

However, his PAN card has now been deactivated due to non-linkage of Aadhaar-PAN. That is, now you cannot do many things related to it. But taxpayers who have to file their ITR by July 31 may face difficulty in doing so. It is possible that for this work they will also have to pay a fine.

Taxpayers will suffer the most

Taxpayers have to file their ITR before 31st July. If their Aadhaar card is not linked with PAN card then they cannot file ITR. This is because now his PAN is inoperative and less than a month is left for the ITR filing deadline. So if the PAN is not activated even after paying the PAN card fine, it may take at least 1 month to get activated.

6 thousand will be fined

If you pay the penalty now, you will miss the ITR filing deadline due to the time taken to activate your PAN. If you file ITR after 31st July then you have to file it as belated ITR. But keep in mind that you may have to pay a heavy penalty for late ITR filing. 5 lakhs for taxpayers having income above Rs. 5,000.

Now after this, if your PAN card is not linked, then you will have to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 to get it activated. 5 thousand in ITR filing and 1 thousand in activating Aadhaar-PAN linking, a total fine of 6 thousand rupees may have to be paid.
