Sanjay Manjrekar on Hardik Pandya: At one time, the star all -rounder of the Indian cricket team Hardik Pandya was being seen as the future captain. Pandya has captained India in T20 matches several times. But after the arrival of head coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Hardik has completely been out of the leadership role. Then in T20 format, Suryakumar Yadav was made the captain of the team and on the other hand, Hardik Pandya was taken to captaincy. Now former cricketer and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has given a big statement on this.
What did Sanjay Manjrekar say?
Regarding Hardik Pandya, Sanjay Manjrekar said, ‘There has been a lot of change in the Indian cricket team. This new change has also been made due to the arrival of new team management. Hardik will have to show the will to play cricket continuously. He rarely plays first class cricket. But if he starts playing cricket continuously, then his candidature will be strengthened for the role of leadership.
Hardik needs to work on his fitness
Further, Sanjay said, ‘Hardik Pandya has always done well in ICC tournaments. Many people probably will not remember that Hardik was the best bowler for that pitch during the 2019 ODI World Cup. You have to run a lot in ODI cricket. T20I matches have a different type of pressure. But ODI cricket requires more physical ability and fitness. You have to throw 7 to 10 overs. After fielding, one has to bat at the fifth or seventh number. For which physical fitness is very important.
