Jammu: Two soldiers, including an army captain, were killed in a terrorist attack on Tuesday in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army said that three soldiers were injured in the IED blast in Akhnoor sector near the Line of Control. Two of them died during treatment.
According to sources, the attack took place when the jawans were patrolling the Line of Control. This is the third attack by terrorists in Jammu region in the last four days.
It is worth noting that a day earlier, General Officer Commanding Lt Gen Naveen Sachdeva of White Night Core had reviewed the terrorist activities crossing the border on the Line of Control in Rajouri district.
As soon as the incident was reported, the search team of the army reached the spot and started a search operation. The army was informed of firing by militants in Kerry sector of Rajouri district two days ago.
According to sources, the attack took place at 3.30 pm on Tuesday afternoon in Battal area of Khawar police station area of Jammu. Three soldiers patrolling the Line of Control were killed in an explosion.
The third soldier is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The army said on X that the White Night Core salutes the highest sacrifice of two brave soldiers and pays homage.
