Sanjita Mahapatra was born in Rourkela, Odisha. Her parents were expecting a son, but when Sanjita was born, the family was not happy. So much so that the family almost refused to accept him. But her elder sister’s stubbornness and love kept Sanjita a part of the family. Today the same daughter has become the pride of her family.
Early life was full of struggles
Sanjita’s life was full of struggles from the beginning. His family was struggling with financial crisis. It was difficult to afford education, but through social organizations, teachers, and scholarships, he completed his studies.
Parents fulfilled their responsibility
Sanjita tells that despite the poor financial condition, her parents never shirked their responsibilities. He worked hard to improve his daughters’ career. The father did small jobs so that his daughters could pursue education and fulfill their dreams.
Journey from engineering to steel plant job
After earning a degree in mechanical engineering, Sanjita Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Started job as Assistant Manager. During this time he helped build a house for his parents in his village.
Achieved UPSC status in fifth attempt
Sanjita always dreamed of becoming an IAS officer. However, this journey was not easy. After failing five times, she passed the UPSC exam in her fifth attempt in 2019 and became an IAS officer. Her husband’s support was important in her reaching this milestone.
Contribution as CEO of Amravati Zilla Parishad
Sanjita Mahapatra currently Amravati District Council Is the CEO of. While fulfilling her responsibility, she is paying special attention to education and empowerment of women.
- Reforms in Education: Zilla Parishad is implementing new schemes to improve the quality of education in schools.
- Women Empowerment: He has laid emphasis on empowering women of Self Help Groups (SHGs). They are working on branding and marketing of women’s products, so that a niche market can be created for them.
