The Indian Air Force (IAF) was at its marvelous best on 76th Republic Day on Sunday (January 26) as it put on a breathtaking display that wowed everyone. Various aircraft including the fighter jets took part in demonstration of formations as well as flypasts above the Kartavya Path in New Delhi.
During the Republic Day parade, MiG-29 aircraft flew in a ‘Baaz’ formation. The flypast involved 40 aircraft/ helicopters.
These included 22 fighter jets, 11 transport aircraft and seven helicopters. Among the fighter jets were Rafale, Su-30 and Jaguar.

The aircraft, including the helicopters operated from 10 different airbases to put up a grand show for the Republic Day parade.

The planes flew in variety of formations. These included: Rakshak, Trishul, Vijay, Arjan, Netra, Bheem, Amrit, Vajrang and more.
A Rafale fighter jet aircraft performed a Vertical Charlie manoeuvre.
To start the aerial demonstration, a ‘Dhwaj Formation’ was carried out. The national flag proudly flew with respective service ensigns Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

This fly-past was led by Group Captain Alok Ahlawat. Deputy formation leader Wing Commander Shailendra Kumar Singh followed closely. On the left was Wing Commander Rohit Tiwari and on right was Wing Commander Vinay.
These helicopters showered flower petals on those gathered at the Katavya Path to witness the grand Republic Day Parade.
The contingent of the Indian Air Force was led by Squadron Leader Mahender Singh Garati alongwith Flt Lt Damini Deshmukh, Fg Offr Abhinav Gorsi
This year’s IAF contingent saw participation by Agniveervayu women as well.
