Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Income Tax Department raided multiple locations in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning including Indore, Depalpur, Manawar and Rajgarh.
A team of 25 officers conducted simultaneous searches at 12 sites owned by prominent businessmen involved in building materials, property brokerage, and petrol pump operations.
They key persons targeted in search include RC Jain, a prominent building materials dealer from Manawar; Golu Pahadia, a petrol pump owner; and property brokers Pankaj Godha, Zaheer Sheikh, and Rajesh Sharma.
In Indore, the home of cotton merchant Suresh Mehta in Kalani Nagar was also searched. Officials are examining documents to verify complaints of unaccounted wealth exceeding known income sources.fl

According to the information, the Income Tax Department team received a complaint that accused businessmen occupied assets more than their income.
IT acted on the complaint and conducted simultaneous raids at the premises of several businessmen. These include prominent building material trader RC Jain from Manawar.
Raids in Rajgarh’s Jewelry Sector
In Rajgarh, the department raided four jewelry shops, including Kesar and SV Jewelers. Officials questioned shop owners and shut the shutters during the interrogation. Even the mobile phones were turned off. Large crowds gathered outside as the raids drew public attention.
The officials are yet to disclose findings, stating that further details will be shared after the investigation concludes.
