Hyundai Motor Company has officially launched the all-new NEXO, a next-generation hydrogen-powered SUV, at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025. Positioned as a key advancement in fuel cell technology, the NEXO combines efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Designed for early adopters of hydrogen mobility, the SUV produces zero emissions while offering improved performance and flexibility.

Hyundai aims to set new benchmarks in hydrogen mobility with the second-generation NEXO, offering an impressive driving range of over 700 km on a quick five-minute refuel. Prioritizing safety, the NEXO is designed to achieve top-tier safety ratings with advanced protective features. With nearly three decades of expertise in fuel cell technology, Hyundai continues to expand its electrification strategy, catering to diverse consumer needs with a mix of hydrogen fuel cell, battery electric, and hybrid vehicles.

The all-new Hyundai NEXO features a bold and refined design, combining strength with sophistication. Its sturdy structure and arch-shaped profile enhance durability, making it suitable for both city drives and outdoor adventures. The horizontal grooves on the doors further emphasize its rugged appeal. A key highlight of the NEXO’s exterior is the distinctive ‘HTWO’ Lamps, representing Hyundai’s hydrogen mobility vision while ensuring strong road presence. At night, the 4 Dot Lamps provide a signature look, reinforcing its Hyundai identity. The new-generation NEXO will be offered in six color options, including the nature-inspired Goyo Copper Pearl, reflecting elements of Korean heritage.

The latest Hyundai NEXO comes with major upgrades in its fuel cell and power electronics systems, resulting in improved performance and efficiency. A new motor system enhances power delivery, increasing total output from 135 kW to 190 kW, while the battery capacity has doubled from 40 kW to 80 kW. These advancements allow the NEXO to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds, a notable improvement over its predecessor. The hydrogen fuel cell stack now generates up to 110 kW, offering 16 percent more power, while a 150 kW electric motor ensures smooth and responsive driving. Additionally, the system features better cold-weather performance and durability, with an anti-freezing function for reliable operation in all conditions.

The new Hyundai NEXO features advanced third-generation ultra-high strength steel, offering improved structural integrity and better impact absorption. Key safety enhancements include a reinforced front end, a stronger lower side section, and an optimized crash load path for better collision protection. The SUV also comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Additional features like Smart Cruise Control, Surround View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist further enhance convenience and safety, making the NEXO a well-rounded hydrogen-powered SUV.
