The first hyperloop project in India is proposed between Mumbai and Pune. Currently it takes 3-4 hours to cover this distance, but through hyperloop this journey will be completed in just 25 minutes. According to reports, 24 to 28 passengers can sit in hyperloop pod. The first successful test of this state -of -the -art transport system was done in 2019.

Hyperloop: High-speed vacuum train
Hyperloop is a state-of-the-art high-speed train, which runs in a vacuum tube. The magnetic system is used in this, so that this train can run at a speed of up to 1000 km/h. Its energy consumption is very low and it produces almost zero pollution.
Government of India scheme on hyperloop
In a video shared on X (East Twitter), Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government is constantly making efforts to promote hyperloop in India. He informed that IIT Madras has been given a grant of one million dollars twice so far and a third grant will be given soon to further the project.
Other hyperloop projects and global progress
- Bengaluru-Chennai Hyperloop: Railway Ministry and IIT Madras are doing research on the project, so that this journey can be completed in only 30-40 minutes.
- Spanish company Jailros: In Europe, the hyperloop system of connecting cities at a speed of 1000 km/h is developing.
- China’s Maglev Hyperloop Train: China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation is planning to develop a hyperloop based maglev train with a speed of 1000 km/h by 2025.
