A man killed his wife and her alleged lover after finding them together in bed at home in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun on Thursday night.

According to reports, Kunwar Singh, a labourer in his mid-thirties, lived with his wife Aarti, 32, and their two young children. Over the past few months, Kunwar had been suspicious of his wife’s character, leading to frequent disputes between them. His suspicions proved correct when he found Aarti in an alleged relationship with Chhavinath Singh, a resident of a nearby village.

As per reports, Chhavinath, who had family ties in Tikri Mustkil, frequently visited the area. During one such visit, he reportedly developed a relationship with Aarti. About ten days before the tragedy, Kunwar and Aarti had a heated argument over the affair. The confrontation led Aarti to file a domestic violence complaint against her husband, prompting the police to begin searching for Kunwar. Fearing arrest, he had been avoiding the authorities.

Late Thursday night, Kunwar returned home unexpectedly and found Aarti and Chhavinath together in his room. Overcome with anger, he attacked them both with an axe, killing them instantly.

Accused confesses to crime

The couple’s two children, aged 10 and 8, were asleep in the house during the incident. Awakened by the commotion, they ran out screaming, alerting nearby villagers.

After informing the police, a forensic team collected evidence and the bodies were sent for post-mortem.

Kunwar Singh later surrendered to the police and confessed to the crime.
