Ahmedabad, February 2: In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old woman has accused her husband of blackmail and online harassment in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. The woman claimed that the accused husband leaked her private photos and videos on social media, after which the woman approached the Ghatlodia Police Station and registered a complaint against her husband. A case of defamation and criminal intimidation has been registered against her husband.

Details About The Incident

As per reports from TOI, the woman approached the police station and registered a complaint on Friday (January 31). In her complaint, the woman explained that she got married with her husband around a year ago and initially lived with her husband’s joint family in a village near Vadodara.

Serious Skin Allergy

However, she eventually moved back to her parental home in Ahmedabad because she was allegedly mistreated by her husband and his family. She also mentioned that she had to leave her in-laws’ house due to a serious skin allergy that caused painful blisters on her back and chest.

Access To Instagram Account

The woman further claimed that during their marriage, her husband had access to her Instagram account and continued using it even after she moved out. While they were still in contact through video calls, she showed him her upper body to show that her skin condition had improved. She now believes that he secretly recorded the call without her consent.

Private Photos & Videos Leaked Online

When the woman refused to return to her marital home and asked for a divorce, her husband allegedly started blackmailing her. In the first week of January, he reportedly uploaded her private photos and videos on his WhatsApp status and Instagram to shame her.

Police Complaint

Feeling harassed and humiliated, the woman approached the police. The Ghatlodia police have filed a case for defamation and criminal intimidation. They have initiated an investigation and further actions will be taken after the investigation is completed.
