Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chamba, Mukesh Repaswal received a hand held portable TB X-ray machine provided to the Health Department Chamba district, by HUDCO under its CSR programme. The DC expressed his gratitude to HUDCO and the company’s Executive Director (CSR) Rajiv Sharma, for the portable X-ray machine made available to the aspirational district of Chamba. Further, Repaswal said that due to its very low power requirements, this machine will prove helpful in examining TB patients in remote areas of District Chamba. This machine will also be used for the TB eradication campaign running for 100 days from 7 December 2024. He expressed hope that in future also HUDCO will continue to provide positive support to Chamba district.

Chief Medical Officer Chamba Dr Vipin Thakur also said that the handheld portable X-ray machine will prove to be effective for examination of patients in the government’s TB eradication campaign in Chamba district. He requested the Deputy Commissioner Chamba to provide an X-ray machine for Civil Hospital Chuwari and an ECG machine for Teesa Hospital through CSR.

Rajiv Sharma, HUDCO Executive Director (CSR) said that under the Health and Nutrition Program, this portable handheld X-ray machine has been provided to the Health Department in Chamba district with the aim of making the TB eradication campaign in the country successful. He said that soon another machine will also be provided to the Health Department by HUDCO.

On this occasion, Sharma informed that in addition to this support, HUDCO has also approved the provision of medical equipment and furniture etc. worth Rs.1 crore for the Chamba medical college.

District Health Officer Dr. JS Bhardwaj, District Program Officer Dr. Harit Puri and other officers of HUDCO and the Health Department were also present.
