Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), as a responsible corporate citizen, continues to make meaningful contributions to society through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

In its latest endeavour, HPCL has successfully installed 300 three-seater benches at the Joint Check Post Attari-Wagah Border Stadium, Punjab, and significantly enhancing public convenience at one of India’s most historic landmarks.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by K. S. Shetty, Director–Human Resources, HPCL, in the presence of Ratikant Thakur, Commandant, Border Security Force along with other senior officials. This initiative is a testament to HPCL’s commitment to improving infrastructure for public welfare and ensuring a comfortable and organized seating arrangement for the thousands of visitors who gather daily to witness the iconic Beating Retreat ceremony.

The newly installed seating capacity for 900 spectators will significantly enhance the visitor experience, ensuring a more enjoyable and structured environment for tourists, dignitaries, and guests attending the daily retreat and other ceremonial events.

K. S. Shetty reaffirmed HPCL’s dedication to corporate social responsibility, stating, “At HPCL, we believe in creating a meaningful impact beyond business operations. Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the visitor experience at the Attari-Wagah Border, a site of national pride and unity. We are honored to collaborate with the BSF in this endeavour, reinforcing our commitment to public welfare and nation-building.”

The Border Security Force (BSF), which safeguards India’s frontiers, has also played a key role in facilitating this initiative, reflecting their commitment not just to national security but also to enhancing public welfare. As HPCL continues to drive initiatives that uplift communities and improve public infrastructure, this project stands as a shining example of its commitment to leveraging corporate resources for the greater societal good.
