Charity has special importance in Indian tradition. People donate heavily to various religious org.zations and social org.zations on occasions like Uthrayan.

The glory of charity is also written in Indian scriptures. Mention of charity is found in Bhagwat Geeta and Puranas. All the scriptures talk about donating a part of the earnings.
Today we will know how much donation is asked for in the scriptures according to Indian tradition and what is mentioned in it.

You will be surprised to know that charity has special importance in religious texts and special rules have been given for it. These rules tell you how to donate.

There are three types of donations mentioned in Bhagwat Geeta. The first donation is a virtuous donation. This donation is made without any expectations and at the right place and time. The second donation is Rajasic donation, which is done without any selfish expectation with the hope of getting results. The second third is Tamasic charity, which is given at the wrong place at the wrong time and to the wrong person.

The scriptures say that charity should always be given only to a worthy person. One should never take loan before donating. Apart from this, one should never donate by hurting or causing pain to the family members. It is also said about charity that the money saved during times of crisis should never be donated.

Giving brings positivity in nature. If the donor regrets the donation after making the donation, the donation becomes invalid. Donation given without faith or with wrong intentions also gets destroyed.

Apart from this, donations given out of fear also get destroyed. Even charity given selfishly gets destroyed.
