Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times by an intruder during an alleged robbery bid at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra on the intervening night of January 15 and 16. The incident took place at around 2 am. The actor was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.
An altercation reportedly broke out between the actor’s maid and the intruder. The burglar attacked Khan when he intervened between the two to calm down the situation. Saif Ali Khan’s wife Kareen Kapoor and their two sons were also present inside the house when the attack took place, The intruder stabbed the actor with a sharp knife.
Khan sustained six injuries, out of which two were deep. He is undergoing surgery at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. The police have started an investigation into the matter. Cops are reviewing the CCTV footage.
As per India Today, the police are probing the role of an insider in the attack as no intruder was seen in the CCTV footage almost two hours before the attack. Three people are also detained in connection with the matter. The police are also investigating the maid’s role in the entire matter. She also reportedly received minor injuries.

– Is there any involvement of an insider? The police reportedly could not spot any intruder entering Saif Ali Khan’s residence in the CCTV.
– If the assailant was an outsider, how was he able to barge into the actor’s house?
– How security guards at Saif Alki Khan’s house could not spot any outsider’s entry into the actor’s residence?
– Was it a friendly entry?
– Role of the maid? The police are also probing the role of the actor’s maid in the entire case.
– Is there an involvement of any gang in the attack? Saif Ali Khan was attacked just three months after Bollywood star Salman Khan’s close aide Baba Siddique was shot dead allegedly by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Last year in April, bullets were also fired outside Salman Khan’s residence reportedly by the people hired by the Bishnoi gang. For the unversed, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi threatened to kill Salman Khan claiming he killed a blackbuck. The animal is worshipped by the Bishnoi community. During the shooting of the movie ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’ in 1998. Saif Ali Khan also acted in the movie.
Statement By Mumbai Police:
“An unknown person entered Actor Saif Ali Khans residence and argued with his maid, late last night. When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter” the Mumbai Police said in a statement.
The actor suffered six injuries. He sustained deep cut near spine. Dixit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 9, stated, “An unidentified person intruded in the residence of Actor Saif Ali Khan. The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. As per initial investigation, It was one person. Investigation is going on.”
Statement By CEO of Lilavati Hospital Niraj Uttamani:
“Saif Ali Khan was brought to Lilavati (hospital) at 3-30 am. He has six injuries of which two are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him. He is being operated upon by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. We will be tell extent of damage only after the surgery is done,” Uttamani said.
Notably, Saif Ali Khan, Kareen Kapoor and their children returned to Mumbai last week after New Year celebrations in Switzerland.
The actor was last seen ‘Devara: Part 1’ alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR. He garnered praise for his role.
