Myanmar Earthquake Update: After the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, the work of removing debris has started. According to a military official of the country, at least 1,000 people have been killed and 2,376 people have been injured in this disaster. According to media reports, many historical buildings and bridges have become frozen. The tremors of this earthquake were also felt in Meghalaya and some areas of Manipur in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced assistance to Myanmar. India has sent 15 tonnes of relief materials including solar lamps, food packets and other kitchens to Myanmar via ‘Operation Brahma’ through the Indian Air Force C130J aircraft.
Myanmar government sought help
Myanmar has been suffering from civil war for years. Due to which the situation is not good in the country. They are facing severe lack of electricity and water after the earthquake. The head of the military government, Min Aung Having, has appealed to other countries for help.
After the earthquake, the Thai government has announced an emergency in Bangkok. On March 28, at least 10 people died after a building collapsed. 100 workers are still missing.
