Hoping To Become ‘Don’, Morena Man Threatens Yogi

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has questioned a man from Morena for allegedly making a threatening call to UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, police said on Wednesday.

Civil Lines police station in-charge Darshan Shukla told Free Press that 20-year-old Sunil Gurjar, a resident of Hasai Mewda village in Morena district, wanted to become a “don” and allegedly called the office of Yogi Adityanath, threatening to kill him.

A UP STF team arrived here on Tuesday and questioned Gurjar, but he was not arrested, Shukla said. His behaviour was erratic and he did not appear to be mentally sound.

The UP STF handed him over to his uncle, asking him to keep an eye on him. Gurjar studied till class 8 and was involved in farming. He did not have a criminal background and no case was registered, Shukla said, but further investigation was underway. 

Hours Before Meeting Doc, Depressed Farmer Ends Life

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 36-year-old farmer committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree on his field on Tuesday under Itkhedi police station limits. No suicide note was recovered and primary investigations suggest that the farmer was in depression over some issue, police said.

According to reports, a resident of Raipur village, Takhat Singh Jaat was a farmer and used to live with his wife and two children. He was in depression over some issue for the past few months and was undergoing treatment.

On Tuesday, his brother-in-law and nephew asked him to get ready for visiting the doctor. Takhat Singh then went towards the agriculture fields. His kin assumed that he might have gone for some work.

But when he did not return, they went looking for him. They found his body hanging from a tree near the field. TI Durjan Singh said that the body has been handed over to his kin after autopsy.
