Karnataka politics was upheld on Thursday when the state cooperative minister KN Rajanna revealed shocking in the assembly that at least 48 MLAs in the state have fallen victim to Honey Trap and their pornographic videos have been made. This statement not only spread silence in the House, but also shook the politics of the entire state.

State Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi also increased the seriousness of the case and said that one of his cabinet colleagues were tried to trap twice in Honey Trap. He also added that this is not a new incident – such conspiracies have been seen before in Karnataka politics.

The statement of “CD and Pen Drive Factory” raised controversy

Minister Rajanna said, “People say that there is a CD and pen drive -making factory in Karnataka. I have received information that 48 people have CDs and pen drives, which have spread throughout the country. Some Union ministers may also be stuck in it.”

His statement has created panic in political circles. The way he spoke of the entire network, it became clear that the matter is not only personal, but also the operation of an organized gang.

All political parties affected, party and opposition unanimous

This issue was not limited to any one party. Minister Jarkiholi clearly stated that the leaders of all parties are trapped in this trap, whether it is Congress or former governments. He described such tricks as “unnecessary and dangerous” for political gains.

Leader of the Opposition R Ashok demanded a sitting judge to investigate the matter. He appealed to the government to take the matter seriously and the culprits should be punished strictly.

State Government’s response: High level investigation signs

Home Minister Ji Parmeshwar gave a statement that he would order a high -level inquiry of the ongoing Honey Trap Network in the state. They said, “This is a serious issue. We have to protect the dignity of our MLAs. It is mandatory to stop such incidents.”

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar also demanded that a police complaint should be lodged first, then a proper investigation process should be adopted.

Increasing danger of ‘honey trap’ in politics

This is not the first time in Karnataka that Honey Trap Scandal has come out. Earlier, efforts have been made to trap politicians in many cases. But this time the case is big, and if the video of 48 MLAs is correct, it can become the largest honey trap scandal across the country.

What is ‘Honey Trap’?

‘Honey Trap’ is a strategy in which a person is blackmailed by creating a personal or sensitive video of a person in a trap of sexual attraction or emotional relationship. In politics, it is used to end presser tools, slander and career.

What will be the next action?

The state’s Home Minister has spoken about a high -level inquiry, but the public and the media are now keeping an eye on:

  • Will a complaint be lodged?
  • Will the investigation be fair and executing?
  • Will the names of the culprits be public?
