Mumbai: The MIDC police arrested a history-sheeter and seized two pistols, six live cartridges, and Rs.10 lakh in cash from him. In another incident, the Goregaon police arrested an individual for allegedly possessing drugs and a weapon illegally. The police seized 23 grams of MD worth Rs.4.60 lakh, a country-made pistol, and two live cartridges.

According to the MIDC police, they received a tip-off that an individual would arrive with pistols and cartridges for international sale. Acting on the tip-off, on February 5 at 10:10 pm, the police laid a trap near the Western Express Highway, Meghwadi, Jogeshwari East. An individual arrived near a water tank and stood near a Ram temple.

When the police tried to catch him, he attempted to flee, but they managed to nab him. He identified himself as Mohiuddin Sayyaid, aged between 35 and 40, a driver. Upon inspection, the police discovered a country-made pistol and six live cartridges in his possession, along with Rs.10 lakh in cash. A case was registered against him under the Arms Act. Sayyaid resides in Jogeshwari East.

In another incident, the Goregaon police on Wednesday arrested an individual identified as Ujez Khan for allegedly possessing a pistol and drugs. Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap at Asmi Complex, Ram Mandir, Goregaon West, at 6:30 pm.

When they spotted Khan, they nabbed him, and upon inspection, they found 23 grams of MD worth Rs.4.60 lakh, a country-made pistol, and two live cartridges in his possession. The police registered a case against him under the relevant act and subsequently arrested him. The accused resides in Goregaon West.
