The Kalyan Crime Branch Unit 3 has arrested a history-sheeter from Bhiwandi, uncovering his involvement in 50 housebreaking cases. The accused, Laxman Suresh Shivsharan, already had 32 housebreaking cases registered against him at multiple police stations in Thane district. The police recovered 667 grams of gold ornaments worth over ₹53 lakh and cash amounting to ₹79,000.

Shivsharan, a resident of Kalher village in Bhiwandi and originally from Solapur district, used to sell stolen valuables to Sukesh Koddiyan, a resident of Mira Bhayandar, who has also been arrested.

The police were investigating a housebreaking case registered at Vishnu Nagar Police Station in Dombivli under sections 305 (theft), 331(3) (housebreaking and lurking house trespass), and 331(4) (housebreaking or lurking house trespass at night to commit an offense) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

During the probe, officers reviewed CCTV footage from a nearby house where a break-in had occurred. After analyzing the footage and gathering technical intelligence, they laid a trap and detained Shivsharan. During interrogation, he confessed to committing 50 housebreaking offenses.

Police said Shivsharan used a screwdriver and other tools to break into houses by unlocking doors.

A total of 21 cases were registered against him at Dombivli Police Station, while five cases were recorded at Manpada Police Station. Additional cases were registered at several police stations, including Badlapur, Wagale Estate, APMC Vashi, Vishnu Nagar, Bhoiwada, Kalwa, Kapurbawadi, Shivaji Nagar, Kongaon, Chitalsar, Kolsewadi, Bhiwandi City, and Bazarpeth MFC.
