Bhopal/Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 22-year-old man died after allegedly falling from the roof of a house late on Monday night in MP’s Gwalior. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when the victim reportedly fell from the first-floor roof. He was rushed to the hospital by his brother-in-law and wife but was declared dead on arrival.

Police were informed about the incident, launching a probe into the same. Preliminary findings revealed that the victim and his brother-in-law were consuming alcohol till 1 a.m. on Monday night. The victim’s family, however suggest foul play and allege that the victim had been pushed from the roof.

According to information, the victim has been identified as 22-year-old Neeraj Valmiki, a resident of Aukhana Kilagate area of Gwalior. According to preliminary findings, Neeraj and his brother-in-law Brijesh had been consuming alcohol until late at night. Brijesh’s wife, Sonali was sleeping downstairs with their child. Brijesh stated that Neeraj woke up around 3 a.m. to use the bathroom, and in his inebriated state, accidentally fell from the roof.

However, Neeraj’s family suspects foul play. His brother, Sukhveer Singh, has accused Sonali and Brijesh of murdering Neeraj. He claimed that Sonali left home without informing anyone to visit her brother-in-law’s house, leading Neeraj to follow her there. Sukhveer alleges that Neeraj was pushed off the roof after a dispute.

Police Investigation

After the incident, police was called up to the location with a team of forensics officers. The body of the deceased was sent for post mortem to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators are considering all angles, including the possibility of foul play. A scene recreation may also be conducted to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
