It’s no longer Gen-Z or Gen-Alpha—we’ve officially entered the era of Gen-Beta! With the arrival of 2025, Generation Beta, born between 2025 and 2039, begins to take shape. Following the path of Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and millennials, this new generation will experience a world defined by groundbreaking technological innovations, pressing environmental issues, and significant societal changes, paving the way for a transformative era ahead.
Here are five things you need to understand about this new generation:
Technology integration
Generation Beta is expected to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and smart devices to their fullest potential, as reported by Moneycontrol. Unlike previous generations, AI tools will be deeply integrated into their everyday lives. From home automation to AI-driven education, these kids will be surrounded by the latest tech from birth.

Social media evolution
For previous generations, social media has been a central part of their lives. However, for Generation Beta, the role of social media might be very different. As they grow up, the dynamics of online communication and digital identity will shift, potentially giving way to more immersive and secure platforms.
Post-pandemic world
Generation Beta will grow up in a world that has moved on from the direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike Gen Z and Gen Alpha, who experienced school closures and social isolation, these kids will not face the same hurdles, The Independent reported. They will be more accustomed to a new normal with advanced public health protocols and a greater focus on global cooperation.

Facing major societal challenges
As futurist Mark McCrindle mentions in his blog, Generation Beta “will inherit a world grappling with major societal challenges.” With climate change, global population shifts, and rapid urbanization, sustainability will become a key value for this generation. Environmental concerns will shape their worldview and societal contributions, turning sustainability from a preference to an expectation.
New generation, new world
Generational researcher and author of Zconomy: How Gen Z Will Change the Future of Business—and What to Do About It, Jason Dorsey, stated, “It wasn’t that long ago that we were talking about millennials as kids.” He went on to explain that Generation Beta will experience a very different start to life compared to their Gen Alpha counterparts. As the children of younger millennials and older Gen Zers, they will be born into a world fully shaped by the post-pandemic era. Dorsey also noted that many of them are expected to live long enough to witness the 22nd century, he shared with NBC News.
