SARAJEVO: Thousands of homes in the European country Bosnia lost power due to heavy snowfall and strong winds on Christmas Day. Whereas in neighboring countries Croatia and Serbia, there was traffic jam due to heavy snowfall and wind. Balkan authorities continue to issue travel warnings regarding motor travel in the current environment. Along with this, he has also warned not to go to high mountains. Tourists have also been asked to be careful.

Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia have banned the movement of heavy vehicles and very limited traffic is being allowed on the affected roads. The airport has also been closed. All domestic and international flights have been canceled and their timings have been changed.

Railway services have been disrupted due to heavy snowfall in many parts of Bosnia. Bosnia’s state electricity company said the situation was “extremely bad” in some parts of the country. Due to heavy snowfall and strong winds, power distribution lines have come to a standstill at many places. Repair of power distribution lines is also not possible as there is still heavy snowfall.

Regional TV channels were showing that many vehicles were stuck on the road for hours due to heavy snowfall. Authorities in some cities have even declared a state of emergency for snow removal. Due to this an atmosphere of chaos was created.
