Mumbai: Since the current financial year is about to end, available data shows that investors have received more returns on gold and silver than shares and rupees in terms of returns on various asset classes.

According to the data received, investors have received more than five percent returns on equity during the period from April 1, 2024 to 28 March 2025, while investors have received heavy returns on investment in gold and silver. According to the local gold-silver market price, the price of gold increased by about 29 percent during the period from April 1, 2024 to March 28, while the price of silver has increased by 34 percent in this one year.

On April 1, 2024, 10 grams 99.90 gold was priced at Rs 68,663 without GST, which closed at Rs 89,164 on March 28, while one kg silver was Rs 75,111, which crossed Rs 1 lakh in the last week of the current financial year and closed at Rs 100,892.

Globally, the price of gold increased from $ 2,207 an ounce to $ 3,085 in a year. Silver closes from $ 24.54 to $ 34.50.

The current financial year has been full of upheaval for equity investors. The huge lead in the first six months of the financial year ended in the last six months and the benchmark Sensex has given a return of 5.11 percent at the end of the current financial year, while investors on Nifty have gained 5.34 percent.

Globally, there has been an attractive increase in prices at the domestic level due to heavy jump in gold and silver. Gold purchases have increased as a safe investment as a result of geopolitical tension arising out of the formation of the new government in the US and the state of war. The rupee has fallen by 2.10 percent against the dollar in the current financial year.

The dollar was priced at Rs 83.40 against the rupee, which increased to Rs 85.50 in a year. At one time during the year, the price of one dollar was 88 rupees. In the last financial year, equity investors got strong returns compared to gold and silver.
