Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Salaksh Polyclinic and Pathology, located near Shri Gavya Lakshmi Gram, Laxmipura, Kayatha, Tarana tehsil, Ujjain district was found unregistered under Establishments for Treatment and Nursing Care (Registration and Licencing) Act, 1973.

Consequently, the Chief Block Medical Officer of Tarana, Ujjain District has been authorised to seal the institution. Until the clinic complies with registration norms, it has been instructed not to operate its medical practice.

According to CMHO Dr Ashok Kumar Patel, registration of Tiwari Nursing Home, located in Nijatpura, Ujjain expired on March 31, 2024. Despite that, the nursing home continued operations without renewal and submitted a renewal application only on November 20, 2024.

Operating without valid registration during this period is illegal and a notice has been issued to the hospital operator to address the lapse, failing which the hospital will face sealing action. In addition, an inspection by the departmental investigation team at Lotus Hospital, located at 69 Vararuchi Marg, Freeganj, Ujjain revealed serious irregularities.

As a result, the hospital’s registration under Establishments for Treatment and Nursing Care Act has been temporarily suspended with immediate effect for one month, starting January 17. The hospital has been instructed to discharge admitted patients within three days and transfer critical patients to other well-equipped hospitals in the city, providing updates accordingly. If Lotus Hospital is found operating during the suspension period, its registration will be permanently revoked.
