Allu Arjun’s Reaction After Spending Night In Prison
Speaking to the media, the Pushpa 2 star thanked his supporters and stated that he has full faith in the judicial system. “I have been to the Sandhya Theatre more than 30 times and something like this has never happened before. It was purely accidental. This situation has been very challenging for my family,” he stated.
The actor was released from Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda Central Jail early Saturday morning after spending a night in custody. This followed his interim bail granted by the Telangana High Court on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. Heavy security was deployed outside the jail, and Allu Arjun’s father-in-law, Kancharla Chandrasekhar Reddy, was present to receive him.
The Sandhya Theatre stampede incident occurred on December 4, when large crowds gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor during a screening of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule. In the ensuing chaos, the stampede led to the tragic death of 35-year-old Revathi and left her eight-year-old son injured.
Police alleged that certain actions by the actor contributed to the unfortunate event. A lower court in Telangana had initially remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, but it was overturned by the High Court, which granted him bail on Friday, December 13.
Earlier, at the film’s success meeting on December 7, Allu Arjun expressed his shock over the incident. “The Sandhya Theatre tragedy is very unfortunate. It took me hours to process the news and respond. Psychologically, I was blank for around 10 hours after hearing about it. We are all deeply affected,” he said. The actor also announced Rs 25 lakh financial aid for Revathi’s family.
