Winter in Delhi is in full swing, with the temperatures hovering around the mark of 11 degrees Celsius and the pollution levels being sky-high. In addition to this, the city’s visibility has also been affected. According to reports, Delhi currently has visibility of up to 500 metres.

Delhi Airport’s Advisory

This development has also impacted the aviation sector. The country’s busiest airport, the Delhi International Airport, took to X to give an update in the matter.

In the post, the airport authorities said,”Low Visibility Procedures are still in progress at Delhi Airport. However, there has been no impact on flight operations. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information.”

IndiGo Issues Update

Major Indian airlines that operate flights from airport also shared updates. Although the Delhi airport said that all flight operations are presently normal, the airlines had varied announcements to make.

IndiGo, the largest airline in country said, “#6ETravelAdvisory: With low visibility expected in #Delhi in the morning, flight schedules might be impacted. We recommend keeping a tab on the flight status http://bit.ly/31paVKQ before heading to the airport. Safe Travels!”

No Flight Cancellation

It is to be noted, that this particular update was 5 hours ago. No recent update has surfaced or been issued.

One of the largest airlines in the country, Air India has not issued any particular or separate notification on the matter yet.

Spicejet also is yet to issue a statement in the matter.

Similarly, Akasa Air or Air India Express has also not issued any statement in the matter yet.

As of now, no flight cancellations have been reported.

The current AQI or Air Quality Index, in Delhi is in the range of 300-360, which falls in the poor to very poor category.
