The Haryana government has sanctioned a huge amount to provide free education in private schools to the economically weaker section (EWS) and the disadvantaged class. Under the 134A scheme, the state government has released an amount of ₹ 33.545 crore for not allowing any kind of obstruction in the education of these children.

This step is news of relief for thousands of students and their families who are studying in private schools but are financially weak.

134A Scheme: What is and who will get benefits?

Under the 134A scheme, the Haryana government aims to provide free education to poor and needy children in private schools that are unable to study in government schools.

The main objective of this scheme:

Giving good education to children of weaker sections
Ensure free entry into private schools
Government providing financial assistance to schools

Important: This assistance is considered particularly important for students from class 2 to 8 under this scheme.

Private School Association also demanded for students from 9th to 12th

Haryana Private School Association President Satyavan Kundu, Pattern Teluram Ramayanwala, General Secretary Pawan Rana and other officials have demanded from the government that reimbursement should be given for students of 9th to 12th grade.

Union’s argument:
Since 2015-16, private schools have taught free students from 9th to 12th.
The government has not yet given clear instructions how much amount will be given for these classes.
The expenses of schools are increasing, so they should also get reimbursement so that students’ studies are not interrupted.

Union Demand: Assistance should also be released for students from 9th to 12th as soon as possible.

Why is government assistance necessary?

Studies of private schools are expensive, and in such a situation, giving free education for poor children becomes a big economic burden.
If the government does not release funds on time, then it may be difficult for schools to continue free education of these students.
This fund will provide financial help to schools and they will be able to give good education to poor children without any hassle.

The government should decide the assistance for the students of 9th to 12th as soon as possible, so that there is no hindrance in education.
