Actor Vikrant Massey shocked everyone by announcing his decision to quit acting. On Monday (December 2), Vikrant said he will not be seen on the big screens after the release of two of his films in 2025. While his co-stars and other celebrities wished him luck and sent best wishes, some netizens felt his decision is nothing but a ‘PR stunt’.
Vikrant’s Haseen Dillruba co-star Harshvardhan Rane also stated that he hopes it is a ‘PR activity’. Harshvardhan also compared Vikrant to superstar Aamir Khan who had announced that he will not act in films a couple of years back.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Harshvardhan said, “He (Vikrant) is a man with a clear and centered thought process. I respect his work ethic and look up to his acting process on Haseen Dillruba’s shoot. Hope he gets back to making films like Aamir Khan sir also did after making a similar announcement.”
“These are great artistes and our country needs their presence in our cinema. I’m praying this is just some PR activity forced on him by some filmmaker,” he added.
For those unversed, in the wee hours of Monday, Vikrant wrote on Instagram, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and everyone of you for your incredible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a husband, father and a son. And also as an actor.”
“So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted,” he concluded.
