A ‘Handa Morcha’ was taken out on behalf of Elgar Kamgar Sanghatana at Panchayat Samiti, Nashik on Friday to demand that drinking water should be arranged in tribal houses in Vilholi Gram Panchayat in Nashik taluka. Taluka President of the organisation Bhagirath Fasale has sent a letter in this regard to the Group Development Officer, Panchayat Samiti Nashik.

As mentioned in the letter, for the last two months, the workers of the organisation have been following up on the arrangement of drinking water in tribal houses in Vilholi Gram Panchayat. However, only promises have been received from the administration and no concrete action has been taken. Therefore, the problem of drinking water in the houses has become serious. Against this backdrop, the organisation tried to draw the attention of the administration by taking out a ‘Handa Morcha’.

A copy of this letter was sent to the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad and the Senior Police Inspector of Sarkarwada Police Station for information. This protest was organised under the guidance of Bhagwan Madhe, the founder and president of the Elgar Workers’ Union.

Through this protest, the problem of water shortage in tribal villages has been demanded to be solved immediately. The organisation has warned of intensifying the agitation if water supply is not provided in time.
