Israel Hamas ceasefire: Hamas releases four Israeli female soldiers after 16 months. These soldiers were abducted during the attack on Nahal Oz base in 2023. This is the second exchange of hostages between Israel and Hamas under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Hamas has released four Israeli female soldiers from Gaza after nearly 16 months of captivity. All are former Israeli soldiers, identified as 19-year-old Liri Albagh, 20-year-old Daniela Gilboa, 20-year-old Karina Ariev and 20-year-old Naama Levy. She was one of seven female soldiers abducted by Hamas during the attack on Nahal Oz base on 7 October 2023. More than 1,400 people lost their lives in this attack.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced that all preparations to welcome the released soldiers have been completed. The Manpower Directorate and the Medical Corps have set up initial reception centres. Where these soldiers will be medically examined and assisted. He will then be transferred to hospitals, where he will be able to meet family and receive further care.

 

The release is an important development amid the tense situation and is part of efforts to ensure the safety of the hostages. This is the second exchange of hostages between Israel and Hamas under the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
