Challenge to the 1991 decision

Advocate Matthews J. Nedumpra and other petitioners have demanded a directive to register an FIR to the Delhi Police.

Along with this, a 1991 decision has also been challenged, in which the Supreme Court said that no criminal proceedings against a judge of the High Court or the Supreme Court could be done without the prior permission of the Chief Justice of India.

On the night of 14 March, there was an incident of fire at the government residence of Justice Yashwant Verma located in Lutyens area of Delhi.
