News India Live, Digital Desk: As the Haj is coming close to 2025, Azmin-e-Haj (Haj pilgrims) across the country have started preparing for their sacred journey. This year, a special thing is that 51 women from Delhi have gone on this happy journey without any male partner (Mehram). This is a big change, because earlier, where women were prevented from going alone in the name of traditions and restrictions, now every year the number of women who are coming forward with their rights and courage.
Kausar Jahan, the chairperson of Delhi Haj Committee, sent these women themselves and described it as a great example of women empowerment. He assured that the government has given instructions to take care of the safety and all kinds of convenience of these women.
What did the chairperson of Delhi Haj Committee say?
Kausar Jahan informed that most of these 51 women are more than 45 years old and belong to different states of North India. He said, “Earlier people were hesitant to go on Haj without Mehram, but now women are coming forward with courage.”
On this occasion, a woman Haji expressed her happiness and said, “We are all very happy and hope that we will get good arrangements there (in Saudi Arabia). We will pray for our good health and peace in the country.”
Minister of Minority Affairs congratulated
On this occasion, Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also reached Indira Gandhi International Airport and congratulated Haj pilgrims. He informed that about 400 Haj pilgrims are leaving today and the government has made excellent arrangements for their visit. Rijiju insisted that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fully committed to make the Haj pilgrimage easier and safe.
How many Indians will go this year?
Let us tell you that this year a total of 1,22,518 Azmin-e-Haj from India is going to perform Haj in this Pak month. The first flights left from Lucknow with 288 passengers and 262 from Hyderabad. Minister Kiren Rijiju also wished all Haj pilgrims on social media for their visit.
