Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A woman has accused a man of blackmailing and sexually assaulting her for eight years on Tuesday in Gwalior.

The accused, identified as Bhupendra Mavai, allegedly used her private photos and videos to blackmail her and force her into repeated assaults.

Despite her repeated attempts to seek help from the police, she claimed she received no support and was sent from one police station to another without action being taken.

According to information, the victim, a resident of Char Shahar Ka Naka in Gwalior’s Hazira area, said that this began eight years ago when the accused took advantage of her trust, assaulted her in a secluded place, and recorded explicit videos.

Since then, he has allegedly been using these videos to blackmail her into submission.

On December 4, the woman was heading home after cooking at a hotel when Bhupendra allegedly forced her into a guesthouse in the Padav area and assaulted her again.

She managed to escape and went to the nearest police station for help, but no action was taken. Instead, she was sent to multiple police stations, including Kila Gate and Hazira, ending up with no attention or solution.

The accused has since increased his actions, reportedly harassing her daughter by sending obscene photos and messages to her WhatsApp number.

He also created a fake social media account in her daughter’s name to spread explicit videos.

On January 1, the accused allegedly threatened to kill the victim and her family.

Frustrated and fearing for her life, the woman approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, threatening to take her own life if no action is taken. She demanded immediate intervention to protect her and her daughter.

Women’s police station in-charge Deepti Tomar, who received the complaint at the SP office, assured the victim that the matter is now under investigation and appropriate legal action will be taken.

The victim has pleaded for justice, saying she has no other option left to protect herself and her family.
