Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A shocking incident was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur, where a man shot his girlfriend in her head, while attempting a ‘dual-suicide’. However, before shooting himself, his mind changed and he fled the spot.
The incident took place in a building on Satai Road, where the woman’s body was found in a pool of blood. The man has been arrested by the police and is being interrogated at present.
According to information, the deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Meera who was secretly dating her boyfriend Sachin Yadav for the last three years. After their relationship got disclosed to their respective parents, they had to face strong opposition. Their parents also started to try and arrange their marriages.
Couple decided to end life after parent’s rejection
Devastated, the couple allegedly decided to end each others’ lives. As per plan, Sachin would be shooting Meera first and then himself. However, while executing their plan, Sachin shot his girlfriend to death and then fled the spot as his mind changed before shooting himself.
According to police, the local residents heard two gunshots around 1:30 pm and saw Sachin leaving the building. He initially said he was heading to the police but he ran away.
Later, police launched a search and caught him in Nowgaon, During interrogation, he revealed that the incident was the part a dual-suicide.
Meera was pursuing B.Ed
Police recovered a country-made gun from the scene. Investigators, including SP Agam Jain, are still verifying Sachin’s story and trying to discover the true motive behind the incident.
Meera was pursuing a Bachelor of Education after completing her Master’s degree. Her body was found with a bullet wound on her head. Eye witnesses reported that Meera arrived at the building about an hour before the incident, and Sachin was already there.
The police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the case.
