Gurdaspur: On Sunday, on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations, Gurdaspur District Police has put about half a dozen leaders of Sikh organization Dal Khalsa in their homes. According to sources, the detained leaders include District President Dilbag Singh and senior leader Kanwaldeep.
It is reported that on January 26, these leaders organized a tractor march from local Gurdwara Sant Baba Tahil Singh from 12 noon to 3 pm, which will pass through various areas of the city. The objective of this protest march was to highlight cases of the release of captive lions, false police encounters and targeted murders.
