As the festival of Makar Sankranti approaches, chikki made of sesame, jaggery and peanuts starts being enjoyed in homes. The way of making peanut chikki in Gujarat is special and different. Here the chikki made by grinding peanuts is very soft and tasty. This time, you too can try this easy Gujarati style peanut chikki at home.

Material:

  • 200 grams peanuts
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8-10 cashews
  • 1 cup milk powder

Recipe:

  1. First of all, dry roast the peanuts properly. Then remove its peel and blow it away.
  2. Now add peeled roasted peanuts, milk powder and cashew nuts in a grinder jar and grind them well to make a powder.
  3. Pour milk in a pan, boil it and then turn off the gas flame.
  4. Now add jaggery and stir well until the jaggery melts completely in the milk.
  5. Turn on the gas flame again and add prepared peanuts and cashew powder.
  6. Fry while stirring well with a spatula, until the mixture starts releasing ghee and leaves the pan.
  7. Now apply some ghee on a plate or tray and spread it. Then spread the prepared mixture well in the plate.
  8. Garnish with finely chopped pistachios on top.

Your Gujarati style peanut chikki is ready. Eat it with your family with pleasure during the festival!
