Gujarat mein mausam ka dohra rukh: Half a month of May has passed in Gujarat, but the state still has a rainy season. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rains in most districts of the state during the next two days i.e. 14 and 15 May 2025. With this, meteorologists have indicated that the temperature will increase in the state from May 16 and the summer phase will begin.
Which areas are projected rainfall?
According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department, during May 14 and 15, various parts of the state are expected to rain with thunderstorms and wind at a speed of 40-50 km per hour. Especially, rain has been forecast in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar and Arvalli districts of North Gujarat. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchamahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur and Narmada districts of Central Gujarat.
Along with Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Kutch in South Gujarat is also expected to rain with thunderstorms. Rain has also been predicted in areas like Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad and Diu of Saurashtra. The Meteorological Department has warned that the wind speed in these areas may be faster, due to which there is a possibility of minor damage.
When will the temperature rise?
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be rain conditions in the state till the next two days i.e. 15 May. However, the temperature is expected to increase gradually from May 16. Meteorologists believe that after the rains are reduced, the temperature will increase in the state and the summer environment will be maintained. During this time, the temperature in some parts of the state can go above 35 ° C.
Monsoon premature arrival
The Meteorological Department has also predicted early arrival of monsoon this year. According to experts, the south-west monsoon will come from normal after 16 years. The monsoon usually arrives in Kerala on June 1, but this year it may come on 27 May. Apart from this, the monsoon has reached the Bay of Bengal on May 13 instead of May 21.
According to the department report, this year, the country is estimated to receive 106 percent more rainfall than the average, which is good news for farmers and agriculture sector. Gujarat is also expected to have a monsoon in the first week of June.
Information for citizens
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to be vigilant due to thunderstorms and strong winds. In particular, unnecessary travel should be avoided at open places, under trees or at places with poor electrical arrangements. Farmers have also been asked to take appropriate measures to protect their crops and fields.
