GST Collection in April: In April this year, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection rose 12.6 percent to an all-time high of Rs 2.37 lakh crore from year to year. This information is received from the official data released on Thursday, 1 May. The GST collection in April 2024 was Rs 2.10 lakh crore. Earlier in March 2025, the tax collection was Rs 1.96 lakh crore.
GST revenue increased by 10.7 percent to about Rs 1.9 lakh crore during April 2025. At the same time, revenue from imported goods increased by 20.8 percent to Rs 46,913 crore. The refund released last month increased by 48.3 percent to Rs 27,341 crore.
After adjusting these refunds, the net GST collection increased by 9.1 percent to more than Rs 2.09 lakh crore in April.
Rapid increase in GST revenue
According to the data, GST revenue has increased by 10.7 percent to about Rs 1.9 lakh crore due to domestic transactions. Revenue from imported goods increased by 20.8 percent to Rs 46,913 crore. The refund amount released in April increased by 48.3% to ₹ 27,341 crore. The net GST collection increased by 9.1 percent to more than Rs 2.09 lakh crore in April after the refund adjustment.
